David has extensive experience assessing and advising on the prospects of success of claims and defences in his areas of expertise.

He has equally broad experience preparing evidence, court documents, and written and oral submissions for court.

David represents clients in all New Zealand courts and tribunals.

Commercial Strategy

In many situations David is able to assist development of workable commercial strategy. Whether with a client on their own, or with a team, he can assist with reducing risk, minimising legal liabilities, improving terms of exploitation of a commercial opportunity, and resolving or avoiding conflict in commercial settings.

Negotiation

David's commercial experience assists with the realisation of workable solutions to commercial disputes.

He is recognised as thorough and capable of producing high quality commercial documents, fully and finally settling contentious matters.

Arbitration

David is a Fellow of the Arbitrators' and Mediators' Institute of New Zealand. His experience includes appointment as an arbitrator to resolve disputes between a large client and their leading legal advisor. He also has experience in disputes involving major construction projects involving FIDIC, NZIA, NZMB, and NZS 3910 agreements. He is available for appointment as an arbitrator in New Zealand and overseas.

Mediation
